The challenge
What the client was up against.
The route crossed several developed roads and a storm water drain where open cutting was neither permitted nor practical, and reinstatement obligations on the cut sections were strict.
Our approach
What we actually did.
The route was walked and every crossing classified before quotation. Developed road and drain crossings were executed by horizontal directional drilling; the remaining stretches were open trenched with duct, warning tape and route markers. Reinstatement was completed to the authority's specification, and every fibre was tested bidirectionally on OTDR before handover.
Before and after
Drag the divider.
Opening condition on the left, completed work on the right — from the same position, so the comparison is honest.
After
Reinstated road surface and installed route markers after completion of the OFC route.
Before
Route alignment marked on the ground before excavation, showing the crossings to be drilled.
