The challenge
What the client was up against.
The roof's ability to carry additional load was unverified, the site sits in a dusty industrial corridor where soiling loss is significant, and an earlier solar enquiry had proposed a system sized to the roof area rather than to the client's actual consumption.
Our approach
What we actually did.
Structural capacity was assessed before design, and the system was sized against twelve months of actual consumption data rather than available roof area. Every roof penetration was sealed, flashed and photographed before the structure covered it. An O&M contract with a soiling-driven cleaning frequency was put in place from day one, with monthly generation reporting against the engineering estimate.
Before and after
Drag the divider.
Opening condition on the left, completed work on the right — from the same position, so the comparison is honest.
After
The same roof with the completed, cleaned solar array in operation.
Before
Bare industrial shed roof before solar installation, showing the available area and existing penetrations.
